Regis Devonish is originally from Houston, Tx. He left the nest for college and attended St. Peter's University on a basketball scholarship in the NY metro area. Upon graduating with a degree in economicsRegis worked for Wall St. banks Credit Suisse and Lehman Brothers. It was the mixture of southern cultural staples from his roots and the cutting edge grit and pace of NYC that helped him to create his focus on urban prep fashion. From this, along with business partner Demetrius Hardeman they created a brain style blog, Modern Renaissance in 2010. The blog started out as a sounding board to underground culture (the arts, hip hop, spoken word). MR quickly blossomed into fashion interest (classic street wear), and later a pocket square line called HandkerSquares. Aside from his personal endeavors Regis is apart of the Houston fashion collective Gents Of Houston as well as an avid volunteer in the community. He works with young people as a mentor and basketball coach. Regis has a soft spot for sports talk and a belief that things are simple...there's simply a right and wrong way to get the job done. Do it right and keep it creative!
